Johannesburg leads SA’s new joy movement
Story 1
A new study by Time Out South Africa shows Johannesburg is leading the country in confidence, joy, and feeling in control.
The Joy Revolution survey gathered insights from over 1,000 South Africans through the SoundInsights panel, tracking how people’s moods and social habits are changing in 2026.
The research finds Gauteng residents are seeking meaningful social experiences such as cooking classes, theatre nights, and creative workshops.
They prefer gatherings that feel intentional rather than chasing big nights out.
Connection with family and friends remains important, and Johannesburg is shifting from quantity to quality, focusing on growth, inspiration, and shared moments that bring joy.

OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Health to Link Personal Medical Data
Story 3
OpenAI has unveiled ChatGPT Health, a new feature that lets users link their medical records and data from wearable devices to the AI, with their consent.
The chatbot can use this information to provide personalised responses, help interpret test results, track wellness routines, and prepare for doctor visits.
OpenAI stresses that ChatGPT Health is not a diagnostic tool and cannot replace professional medical advice.
The feature includes enhanced privacy protections and keeps sensitive data separate from the main AI models. It’s currently in a soft launch and most people cannot access it yet, with wider availability expected soon.
