The KnitWits are celebrating 12 years of knitting and donating blankets through the 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day initiative.
What began as a small luncheon has grown into a nationwide movement that mobilises volunteers to create and distribute handmade blankets to communities in need.
The group continues to mentor new crocheters while expanding its reach to underserved areas.
In April this year, members will host a celebration at Steyn City to mark the milestone and promote creativity as a tool for community support.

4 Ekurhuleni tennis players to tour the UK

Omphile Sekhute, Stephen Marè, Nkazimulo Sigasa, and Katherine Henderson have been selected for the South Africa Schools tennis team and will tour the United Kingdom later this year.
The players earned their spots through strong performances at the interprovincial tournaments in Pretoria and Bloemfontein, where they stood out among the country’s most promising young players.
During the UK tour, the team will visit Lawn Tennis Association clubs and watch top players compete at Wimbledon.
