Young dancers from Soweto, Alexandra, and Braamfontein performed at Joburg Ballet School’s year-end show, Seasons of Dance, at the Soweto Theatre on Sunday.
The students showcased ballet, hip-hop, and contemporary routines, performing alongside professionals from Maison De La Dance.
This year, 50 students took part in Cecchetti-graded ballet exams, earning eight merits and 42 distinctions.
The schools seek to give children dance training and a safe space to develop skills, confidence, and a love for the arts.

Newly-crowned Knockout champions Orlando Pirates will go head-to-head with the All-Stars team in the 2025 Carling Black Label Cup match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
The Buccaneers stretched their unbeaten run to nine matches across all competitions when they claimed a 1-0 victory over Marumo Gallants after extra-time in the Carling Knockout final last weekend.
The victory earned Pirates a place in this year's Carling Black Label Cup and they are hoping to become the first PSL side to defeat the All-Stars team since the inception of the current format in 2023.
Speaking to the Sabc following their victory over Marumo Gallants Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou credited his players and staff for the win:
