The Transplant Education for Living Legacies, TELL, has launched the Orgamites Mighty Education Programme in Gauteng schools.
This is part of Organ Donor Awareness Month.
There are over eight-thousand South Africans currently waiting for life-saving transplants, including 40 children.
TELL’s managing director, Stella de Kock, says Orgamites, which is active in over three-thousand-200 schools worldwide, uses fun, organ-inspired characters to teach children aged 5-to-11 about their bodies, healthy habits, kindness, and organ donation:
