Northern Academy Wins Inaugural Curro Halala Cup

Northern Academy have claimed the first-ever Curro Halala Cup title after edging Norkem Park High School 8-7 on penalties in a thrilling final at HeronBridge College in Johannesburg. The match ended 1-1 in regular time before the tense shootout.
The four-day tournament featured 60 of South Africa’s top school teams, with the best 16 battling it out in the finals.
Northern Academy walked away with the trophy and a R100 000 prize. Katlego Rhenoster was named Best Player, Omolemo Sekowe took the Golden Boot, and Manaka Kelelo won the Golden Glove.
Hillcrest High earned the Spirit Award for their passion and sportsmanship. The event was celebrated as a showcase of young football talent across the country.

Joe and Donell Jones to Headline Ndlala Mall Relaunch

The grand opening of Pretoria’s Ndlala Mall will now take place on 23 August with R&B stars Joe and Donell Jones headlining the celebration.
The relaunch follows a postponement after original headliner Tank withdrew. Joe, who performed at the Women’s Day concert in Sandton, announced he will remain in South Africa to support mall owner Thami Ndlala.
The newly refurbished venue, formerly Sterland Mall, has been transformed under Ndlala’s Ndlalayesizwe Real Estate group and will open with performances aimed at making the occasion a standout event for the city.
