South Africans Attempt Braai World Record

South Africans will attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the largest number of people braaiing at the same time on Heritage Day, 24 September.
Three thousand people are expected at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria for the attempt, which aims to beat Japan’s current record of 2,220.
Organisers have built 500 braai stands, with six people assigned to each station.
The record attempt will start at 10am, with food and entertainment on offer afterwards.

The nominees for the 2026 South Africa Fashion Awards have been announced, with the public now able to vote in 21 categories.
The awards recognise designers, models, stylists, photographers, brands and fashion executives, with two new categories added this year.
Bonang Matheba, DJ Zinhle and Boity Thulo are among the nominees for Best Fashion Influencer, while Minnie Dlamini is nominated for Best Fashion Icon.
Winners will be announced at Hotel Sky Sandton on October 3.
