Dainfern Residents Donate Libraries to Diepsloot

Dainfern residents have donated four mobile libraries to the Wot-If? Trust in Diepsloot to support children’s reading.
Members of the Dainfern Community Workshop built the lockable bookcases as part of their woodworking and DIY training.
The libraries were delivered with Bags of Love and will be stocked with 300 books donated by Dainfern residents.
The Wot-If? Trust supports women and young people through education and entrepreneurship.

Cape Town Joins Global Road Safety Initiative

Cape Town has joined the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety in a four-year partnership aimed at reducing road deaths and serious injuries.
The partnership will provide international training, technical support and four full-time road-safety specialists to help the City implement its Road Safety Strategy.
The work will target high-risk areas through safer pedestrian crossings, traffic calming, improved safety around schools, safer walking and cycling routes, and targeted enforcement.
The City and its partners will also use road-crash data to identify where safety measures and resources are most needed.

SA Fashion Awards Nominees Announced

The nominees for the 2026 South Africa Fashion Awards have been announced, with the public now able to vote in 21 categories.
The awards recognise designers, models, stylists, photographers, brands and fashion executives, with two new categories added this year.
Bonang Matheba, DJ Zinhle and Boity Thulo are among the nominees for Best Fashion Influencer, while Minnie Dlamini is nominated for Best Fashion Icon.
Winners will be announced at Hotel Sky Sandton on October 3.
