Ford Motor Company Africa and the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund have delivered 300 handmade bears to children receiving treatment at the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital in Johannesburg.
Ford employees in Pretoria and Gqeberha made the bears as part of the Mandela Bear Magic campaign.
The toys are intended to give children comfort and companionship while they are away from their homes and families.
The partnership also includes two vehicles donated by Ford, which are being used to help transport patients from across the country to access treatment.

Eversdal Primary School in Cape Town has raised R358,510 for 50 charities as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations.
The school had set a target of R250,000, but donations from learners, parents, teachers and the wider community pushed the total well above that.
The money will be divided equally among organisations supporting children, families and vulnerable communities across South Africa.
The fundraising drive is part of the school’s long running DAMUS tradition, which dates back to 1976.
