Ancient Treasures Emerge from Norwegian Glaciers
Teaser / Tailpiece story

Scientists in southern Norway have uncovered 48 ancient arrowheads and shafts. This came about during a project to recover historical artefacts from melting glaciers. The Secrets of the Ice project has recovered around 5,000 artefacts over the past 20 years, with some of the latest finds among the oldest discovered so far. The arrowheads were made from materials including slate, bone and freshwater mussel shells, and date back between 2,000 and 5,000 years.
These extraordinary discoveries bring ancient history to life, revealing how people lived and crafted tools thousands of years ago. They also help preserve our shared human heritage before these treasures disappear as the glaciers melt.
