The Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane will on Sunday give an update on the online admissions placements for Grades 1 and 8 learners for the 2026 academic year.

The placement period will officially begin on Thursday the 16th of October, when placement offers will be sent to parents and guardians who have completed their applications.

Online applications for both grades closed at the end of August.

Airlink announces major fleet expansion

SA Airlink is in the process of procuring ten new second-generation Embraer E2-195 jet aircraft, in a bid to expand its airline service domestically and across the continent.

The airline is procuring the jets through US-based aviation leasing company Azorra, which specialises in purchasing and leasing both new and pre-owned aircraft to airlines across the world.
The Senior Vice President at Embrayer, Stephan Hanneman, was in Brazil for the formal handover of the aircraft.
