Fourways clean-up clears the way for 3 000-tree planting project
Story 1
A major clean-up operation in Fourways has paved the way for the planting of 3 000 trees along Winnie Mandela Drive.
Ward 94 councillor David Foley joined forces with JMPD, the Lonehill Fire Station, and the Fourways Improvement District to remove illegal food trailers, A-frame signs, and other obstructions that violated city by-laws.
Foley says the operation aims to improve road safety and restore the area’s natural beauty ahead of the tree-planting drive.
He also urged businesses and residents to comply with outdoor advertising regulations, warning that ignorance of the law is no excuse.
