Footprints Foundation and FootGolf South Africa have launched the “Walk Her Story” campaign.
The 24-month programme will run across all nine provinces and uses community walks, survivor storytelling sessions, and volunteer teams to address gender-based violence.
Business and community leaders will sign pledges committing their organisations to preventing gender-based violence, while partners support education and outreach programmes.

2026 Africa Travel Indaba gets underway in Durban today

Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille has launched the 2026 Africa Travel Indaba in Durban, set to take place at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre from today until Thursday.
More than 1,300 exhibitors and delegates from over 20 African countries are expected to attend the four-day tourism trade event.
The showcase will connect tourism businesses, buyers and industry leaders to promote travel opportunities across the continent.

UWC alumni head to the US to showcase their transport app, Uthutho

Two University of the Western Cape alumni will travel to the US after winning this year’s Red Bull Basement South Africa title with their transport app, Uthutho.
According to software developers Shaqeel Less and Makhi Mangxola, the artificial intelligence and GPS-powered platform gives commuters real-time route, fare and travel updates to make public transport easier and safer.
The app also allows school transport operators to list their services.
They will also compete at the global finals in San Francisco in June.
