New Primary School Brings Education Closer to Ga-Maloka Learners

Learners in Ga-Maloka Village near Lichtenburg in North West will no longer have to travel long distances for primary education following the opening of a new school in the area.
The North West Department of Education has officially opened Thalefang Primary School, a fully equipped facility with 14 classrooms, Grade R units, a science lab, computer and library centre, as well as sports and recreation facilities.
The school also includes dining facilities, ablution blocks and improved security to create a safer learning environment. Residents say it will ease transport challenges and allow children to learn closer to home.

A music exchange project is bringing African and UK artists together through performances designed to deepen connections with local communities beyond the stage.
The initiative, called Afro Diaspora Connection and led by Johannesburg based agency The Dig Global alongside UK based Jazz Refreshed, has hosted events in cities including Johannesburg, Cape Town and Eswatini.
The programme combines live performances with community focused activities such as talks, listening sessions and group walks, giving artists and audiences a chance to engage more meaningfully.
Organisers say the aim is to strengthen cultural ties across the global African community while building long term collaboration between musicians.
