The Gauteng Provincial Government will host Youth Day event at Morris Isaacson High School in Soweto, to mark the 49th anniversary of the 1976 Soweto uprisings.
The day will begin with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Hector Pieterson Memorial in Orlando West, honouring the youth who stood up against injustice.
This will be followed by a vibrant Youth Expo, led by the Premier, and set to connect over 3,000 young people with opportunities across government, civil society, and the private sector.
The Expo aims to equip Gauteng’s youth with access to programmes, resources, and career pathways.
MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Matome Chiloane, says the day is a call to build hope and invest in the future of young people.
