Eskom's power system remains stable
Story 2
Eskom says the power system remains stable and continues to demonstrate resilience despite the cold front that is sweeping across the country.
The South African Weather Service has issued two orange and six yellow level warnings for several parts of the country, with warnings of cold, wet and windy conditions, including snow for several parts of the country.
Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokwena says there are no plans for load shedding, as the power system remains stable, giving the utility headroom to manage the increase in demand as the cold weather persists.
Mokwena says Eskom’s winter Outlook, which was published on the 5th of May covering the period ending on the 31st of August remains valid.
