Serendipity Strings Celebrate Women’s Day with Candlelight Tribute

In celebration of South Africa’s National Women’s Day, Serendipity Strings, an all-female string quartet from Pretoria, will perform a special Candlelight concert at NH Johannesburg Sandton on 9 August.
The group will present Candlelight Queen versus ABBA featuring hits like Dancing Queen, Waterloo, Bohemian Rhapsody and Don’t Stop Me Now.
Candlelight concerts are known worldwide for their intimate, candlelit settings and aim to bring classical music to new audiences.

Chihuahua Leads Rescuers to Trapped Hiker in Swiss Alps

A Chihuahua is being praised for helping save its owner after he fell into a hidden glacier crack in the Swiss Alps last Friday.
The man was hiking on the Fee Glacier when he stepped onto a snow bridge that collapsed, sending him eight metres down into the ice.
He managed to send out a distress call, but rescuers could not find his location on the vast glacier.
Then they spotted his dog, sitting calmly beside a nearly invisible crevasse.
The Chihuahua had not moved from the spot where its owner fell.
Thanks to the dog’s behaviour, rescuers found the exact location and pulled the injured man to safety.
