The Gauteng Provincial Government is encouraging residents to download the official Gauteng e-Panic Button mobile app to improve access to emergency help.
The app connects users directly to a province-wide network of private armed response and medical services for faster assistance during emergencies.
Residents can report crimes, request armed response or call for medical help at the touch of a button, with real-time updates showing when responders are on the way.
To set it up, users must download the app from the Google Play or Apple App Store, register with their cellphone number, and enable location and notification permissions.
