Stand-in Ward 102 councillor Bea Campbell-Cloete praised the workers, saying restoring pride in the area will take consistent effort.

Quick-thinking locals save tourists at Brenton-on-Sea

Two Swiss tourists were rescued from a rip current at Brenton-on-Sea on 10 February thanks to the quick action of local residents Justin Lucas and Kathryn Talken.
Justin swam out to guide the 78-year-old man to safety, while Kathryn handed the woman a pink NSRI rescue buoy to help her reach the rocks. By the time NSRI crews arrived, both visitors were safe and unharmed.
Officials praised their swift response, showing how ordinary citizens, alert and prepared, can make all the difference in life-threatening situations.

R1.7 Million ECD Centre Opens in Klipspruit West

A newly upgraded early childhood development centre has opened at the Klipspruit West Family Centre, providing classrooms, play areas, and facilities for children under three.
The R1.7 million project, supported by the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport and the Gautrain Management Agency, will benefit over 40 households and create new jobs in the community.
The centre, fulfilling the vision of founder Pretty Barrenton, aims to give children a strong educational foundation and ensure they are safe and cared for while parents are at work.
