Cape Town host city for Moja Chess Extravaganza 2026

Cape Town will host the Moja Chess Extravaganza in April 2026, bringing together players from across South Africa and abroad for six days of competition.
The tournament gives African players the opportunity to earn international ratings and compete against Grandmasters without travelling overseas.
Nearly 700 players took part last year, and organisers expect about 1,000 participants in 2026 across elite, women’s, junior, senior, and developing sections.
With players, families, and officials spending the week in the city, the event is expected to increase bookings for local hotels, restaurants and transport services.

Mosime's team harvested 200 kilograms of green beans this year after collecting 800 kilograms of baby marrow last month.
Mosime spearheaded the project to expand her small-scale farm into a profitable enterprise.
