Volunteers distribute about 33 000 meals

Volunteers from organisations in Benoni packed and prepared around 33 000 meals for distribution Early Childhood Development centres across Gauteng.
About 100 volunteers gathered at Belvedere School in Benoni last week, filling packets with rice, soy, vegetable and vitamins before sealing, labelling, and boxing them, in just 2-hours.
These meals will supply more than 3 000 children at over 50 Early Childhood Development centres across the province.
Teachers at the centres say the meals will support daily nutrition and learning.

Afrika Tikkun and the MTN SA Foundation have opened a Digital Skills Hub in Diepsloot, Johannesburg.
The hub features 55 digital workstations and aims to train township youth in digital literacy, coding, data analytics, digital marketing, and workplace skills.
In the past three months, the programme enrolled over 600 unemployed young people.
Through this initiative, the organisations seek to reduce youth unemployment and equip participants for jobs in South Africa’s evolving digital economy.

Tunisia's Masghouni Wafa has expressed pride in her performance after winning gold in the women's Under-62kg division at the World Under-21 Taekwondo Championships in Kenya.
The 3-day competition held in Nairobi last week, saw strong performances from North African countries, with Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia all claiming medals.
Over 400- participants from 78-countries, took part in the championship.
