A new Community and Wildlife Wellness Campaign has launched at Transnet’s Pyramid South site to promote environmental awareness and conservation among learners.
The initiative, led by Sinqobile Equestrian Security Services, TRIM Security and Rooi Kat Conservation, will teach students about biodiversity and protecting ecosystems.
The school outreach programme, starting in Mamelodi, aims to inspire responsible behaviour and a love for nature.
The project was initiated by Danel Velthuysen from TRIM, combining community safety with sustainable conservation.

Durban’s Golden Mile is gearing up for a major boost as the city unveils a R1 billion plan to transform the old Funworld site into a modern entertainment destination. The redevelopment will bring new roller coasters, virtual reality zones and a redesigned Splash Park for families.
eThekwini Mayor Cyril Xaba said the investment will create hundreds of jobs, boost tourism, and revitalise the Golden Mile as a vibrant, family-friendly hub. Construction will begin once final approvals are completed, with the project expected to be finished by 2027.
The new park will feature a 500 metre roller coaster, high speed rides, and a large VR arena with more than 160 interactive games.
