46,506 knitted and crocheted toy mice for rescue cats in UK
Teaser / Tailpiece story
Readers of Woman’s Weekly have produced 46,506 knitted and crocheted toy mice for rescue cats across the UK, breaking a Guinness World Record.
Using a free pattern from the magazine, volunteers mailed thousands of parcels to the publication’s London office earlier this year.
The toys are now being distributed to more than 300 cat rescue centres as enrichment for animals awaiting adoption.
The project continues the magazine’s annual drive to encourage readers to craft items for community causes.
