Young Riders Take On Rally For Children

Four young Team Zonke riders will take on a 600-kilometre rally in Botswana to raise money for vulnerable children.
Team Zonke is a programme of the Johannesburg-based Maletsatsi Foundation, which supports children who have experienced trauma through rehabilitation and life-skills development.
The riders, aged between seven and 14, aim to raise 200-thousand rand for Team Zonke and the foundation.
Field Services and Engineering has already donated 100-thousand rand, with the team now appealing for support to reach its target.

Pharos Collects Learning Resources For Children

Pharos Community Centre is collecting educational resources for 25 children at Bright Beginnings Daycare and Preschool in Mamelodi.
The CHICS Programme provides children with learning activities, but many lack access to books, puzzles, building blocks and educational games.
The centre is asking schools, businesses, families and community members to donate new or gently used learning materials, stationery and outdoor toys.
The donations will give children more opportunities to learn through play and develop skills for school.

One hundred women in the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal will receive agricultural training through a programme run by Islamic Relief.
The programme is being delivered with Pelican Park High School and James Nxumalo Agricultural High School.
Women will gain farming skills to help their households become more self-sufficient.
