The City of Johannesburg brought its free healthy lifestyle aerobics programme back to Rabie Ridge Stadium, with about 52 residents taking part.
The programme encourages regular exercise while promoting healthier lifestyles and overall wellbeing.
Instructors Bongani Bila and Keketso Masindi led the session, giving residents an opportunity to stay active and exercise together

Cape Town teenager takes on English Channel

Eighteen year old Cape Town swimmer Amber Rose Berry is preparing to take on the English Channel later this month, in a bid to make history.
If successful, she will become the youngest South African woman to complete the gruelling crossing between England and France, and the youngest South African overall.
Berry has already made her mark in open water swimming, becoming the youngest person to complete the 34 kilometre crossing of False Bay at just 16.
Her latest challenge will also raise funds for the Ukukhula Institute, which provides bursaries for disadvantaged student athletes from the Eastern Cape.

The East Rand Business Women will come together for their annual golf day at ERPM Golf Club on September 2, with proceeds going towards St Francis Care Centre.
The event will bring local entrepreneurs together for a day of golf while supporting the work of the care centre.
Participants can enter as a four ball, with the entry including a light dinner during the prize giving.
Hole sponsorships will also help contribute to the fundraising effort.

California community rallies around young basketball fan

Hundreds of people in California turned up to play basketball for a three year old boy after his mother posted on the Nextdoor app asking if anyone would help make his birthday special.
The boy has spent much of his life in and out of hospital because of a rare chromosome disorder and has not had many opportunities to make friends.
Among those who responded was the Tamalpais High School basketball team, giving the young fan a birthday surrounded by people sharing his love of the game.
