The top ten schools selected to move into the next phase of the 2025 Samsung Solve for Tomorrow STEM competition have been revealed.
The competition encourages Grade 10 and 11 students from disadvantaged communities to find solutions to everyday problems using science, technology, engineering, and maths.
The top ten rankings feature three schools from the Free State, two each from Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, and one each from Limpopo, Eastern Cape, and Western Cape.
The first-place school will receive 100-thousand-rand in cash.

Cape Town has officially set a new Guinness World Record after one-thousand-276 marimba players performed at the Grand West Arena.
The event smashed the Guinness World Record for the largest marimba band in the world.
The previous world record was 550 players, at a Guatemala event.
The band brought together talented musicians aged between eight and 62.
