Sandton Learner Raises R10 000 For Gauteng Touch Rugby Players
Grade 11 Crawford International Sandton learner Tahseen Chopdat has raised R10 450 to help talented Touch Rugby players who cannot afford tournament fees.
She launched the Play It Forward initiative after seeing players miss tournaments because of financial difficulties.

4.4 Million Meals Provided To Children
Business and NGOs have provided 4.4 million meals to children through school and early childhood feeding programmes.
The meals were provided through long-running programmes involving Oceana, Rise Against Hunger Africa and the Peninsula School Feeding Association.
More than a million meals were packed by Oceana employees, while 3.5 million meals were served at four primary schools on the West Coast.

Elevate Her Africa Launches Campaign To Tackle Period Poverty
Sandton based non profit organisation Elevate Her Africa has launched a campaign to collect 36 000 sanitary packs for 2 000 women and girls across local communities for a year.
The organisation is calling on businesses, schools, churches and individuals to support the campaign through donations and collection drives.
The goal is to ensure women and girls have access to menstrual products without having to rely on alternatives such as toilet paper.

Bronx Pizzeria Owner Offers Free Pizza To People In Need
A Bronx pizzeria owner is offering free pizza and water to people who are struggling to afford food.
Daniel Romano of D’Romano’s Pizza invited a woman inside and gave her a meal after seeing her take food from his rubbish.
He then put up a handwritten sign inviting anyone who is hungry to come inside for a free slice and water.
The gesture has attracted calls from across the United States, with people offering to help pay for meals for others in need.
Romano says he was inspired by his mother, who taught him to help people in need.
