Dainfern residents have donated four handcrafted mobile libraries to the Wot-If? Trust in Diepsloot to encourage children to read.
The lockable bookcases were made by members of the Dainfern Community Workshop, which provides training in woodworking and other DIY skills.
The libraries were delivered in partnership with Bags of Love and will be filled with 300 books donated by Dainfern residents.
The Wot-If? Trust supports women and young people through education and entrepreneurship.

FoodForward SA is expanding its Mother and Child Nutrition Programme to a further 70 mothers, young children and families in Bloekombos and Wallacedene in Cape Town.
The programme provides nutritious food parcels, growth monitoring and nutrition education during the first 1,000 days of a child’s life.
It has already supported 535 patients who completed the full nutrition intervention.
The expansion is being carried out with the City of Cape Town Health Department.

Nal’ibali has received the Significant Contribution to Literacy Award from the Literacy Association of South Africa.
The award was presented on Sunday at the 21st Annual LITASA Conference in Johannesburg.
Nal’ibali was recognised for promoting reading and storytelling among children and families, particularly in South Africa’s different languages.
The organisation says the recognition strengthens its commitment to giving more children access to books and opportunities to develop a lifelong love of reading.
