Dutch tourist returns to thank South African doctors

A Dutch tourist has returned to South Africa to thank the medical team that saved her life after a serious boating accident in St Lucia two years ago.
Manon Rouwette-Janssen suffered a severe spinal injury while on holiday and was airlifted to Netcare St Anne’s Hospital, where neurosurgeon Dr Sandile Ngwenya and his team performed life-saving surgery.
On her recent visit, Manon reunited with the doctors, nurses and therapists who helped her recover, calling their care world-class.
She also completed the family trip that was cut short, saying her return was both emotional and filled with gratitude.

Met Museum receives landmark Dada and Surrealist donation

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has received nearly 200 works from the Dada and Surrealist movements in a major donation by US philanthropist John Pritzker.
The gift includes collages, paintings, photographs and works on paper by leading artists such as Man Ray, Marcel Duchamp, Jean Arp and Max Ernst.
Among them is Man Ray’s famous photograph "Ingres’ Violin," which Pritzker acquired for over 200 million rand in 2022.
The masterpiece will go on display this Sunday as part of a major Ray exhibition, while all 188 donated works will eventually join the Met’s new modern and contemporary wing opening in 2030.
