New London statue celebrates the strength of motherhood
Story 3
A new bronze statue celebrating motherhood has been unveiled in London. Titled Mother Vérité, the seven-foot sculpture by Rayvenn Shaleigha D’Clark honours the unseen strength of mothers.
First displayed outside St Mary’s Hospital and now at Portman Square, the statue shows a mother holding her newborn with raw honesty.
D’Clark used 3D scans of real women to capture every detail.
Created with Frida Mom founder Chelsea Hirschhorn, the artwork challenges how mothers are represented in public art and highlights the realities of postpartum life.
With only four percent of London’s statues depicting women, *Mother Vérité* brings long-overdue recognition to motherhood.
