Theft from vehicles on the rise in Sandton

The Sandton Community Policing Forum has sounded the alarm over a growing number of theft out of motor vehicle incidents in the area.
Thieves are targeting parked cars, especially in shopping centers, parking lots, and fuel stations, using remote jamming devices or snatching valuables from unlocked doors.
The most affected areas include Bryanston, Sandton CBD, and several other neighborhoods.
Residents and visitors are advised to be vigilant, especially between 3 pm and 9 pm.

SA's marine protected areas boost coastal tourism and economy

South Africa's Marine Protected Areas are driving coastal tourism growth, including diving and whale watching, while protecting biodiversity.
This is according to Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment Minister, Dion George.
Estimates from the Oceans Economy Master Plan predict that South Africa’s ocean economy could contribute 166-billion-rand to the gross domestic product, and create over 600-thousand jobs by 2035.
George says the ocean economy's potential relies on five key areas: aquaculture, fisheries, coastal tourism, offshore oil and gas, and marine conservation.
