Chewy Claus Brings Holiday Joy to Dog Owner Living with ALS
Story 3
US pet company Chewy is granting holiday wishes to pets and their owners through its annual Chewy Claus programme.
This year, Brooke Eby, who lives with ALS, received a custom wheelchair leash that allows her to take her adopted dog Dray on walks again.
Traditional adaptive leashes had left Dray tangled in her wheelchair wheels, making walks difficult. The new accessory restores Brooke’s independence and lets her enjoy outdoor activities with her dog safely.
In Brooke and Dray’s honour, Chewy is donating $10,000 to ALS advocacy organisation Team Gleason and supporting other pet owners living with ALS.
The campaign also provides meals to pets in need for every wish submitted, helping millions of animals across the United States this holiday season.
