Young filmmakers from Thokoza's Of Soul and Joy Photography Project and CinemaTAKE premiered their short film Thando at a Paris youth film festival.
The screening brought together filmmakers, art lovers, and supporters of the Of Soul and Joy Photography Project, the Thokoza-based initiative that partnered with CinemaTAKE, a non-profit film education organisation.
Together, they guided young people in exploring storytelling through film.
And the result was Thando, a horror short that cleverly intersects themes of individuality, community, and belonging.

Entries opened on Monday morning 3 November and were snapped up by runners before the day ended.
The Comrades Marathon Association noted the previous record was set in 2020, when 27 000 spots were filled over three days.
Organisers attribute the surge to a post‑pandemic resurgence in road‑running enthusiasm.
