Durban is preparing for its largest cruise season on record, with projections indicating the 2025/26 programme will inject nearly R1. 8 billion into the city's economy.
The city also expects to attract around 255,000 cruise visitors between November 2025 and June 2026.
On Friday KZN Tourism and Film participated at the Interprovincial Cruise Tourism Workshop at the Nelson Mandela Cruise Terminal which brought together government, industry, and private-sector leaders to align KwaZulu-Natal’s cruise ambitions with national strategies.
The gathering stressed that the province’s success depends on collaboration, investment, and turning passenger arrivals into real local benefit.
