Centennial Schools learner Mauro Da Luz is making waves in South African motorsport, progressing from karting success to competing in one of the country’s leading racing series. At just 17 years old, Da Luz has already built an impressive racing career, moving from competitive karting into the prestigious Astron Energy VW Polo Cup championship. He began his motorsport journey in 2022, entering professional karting in the Junior Max category and quickly establishing himself as a strong competitor.

The Shuffling Walking Team is inviting the community to take part in a 5km family fun walk for cancer awareness on July 26 at the Bedfordview Country Club. This event celebrates 15 years of the organisation’s work in supporting people affected by cancer. The Shuffling Walking Team is a non-profit organisation that raises funds for cancer charities and also helps people in the community who are living with cancer. Over the years, funds raised from the walk have supported organisations such as the Breast Health Foundation, Stepping Stone Hospice Alberton, Hospice East Rand, Childhood Cancer Foundation and the Shuffling Walking Team Community Cancer Fund.

Padel players, sponsors, and community members gathered at Balwin Padel in Waterfall City to celebrate the launch of the Premier Padel Pretoria P2 Tournament.The launch event, held on May 5, invited local padel players to participate in the tournament, which will take place from July 26 to August 2 at SunBet Arena.Vice President of Primedia Sport, Tobie Badenhorst, described the event as a major opportunity for South African padel. He said the tournament is part of the international Premier Padel circuit, which features 28 global events and is regarded as the “Formula One” of the sport.
