Community Hours, Linden Police launch monthly knitting sessions

Social Movement Community Hours has partnered with the Linden Community Policing Forum to host a monthly knitting and crocheting session at the Linden Police Station.
Volunteers knit scarves, beanies, gloves and baby items for children, premature babies and residents who need warm clothing.
Participants also collect plastic bottle tops for a recycling programme that exchanges the plastic for wheelchairs.
The sessions allow residents to knit items, donate clothing and support recycling efforts for local families.

Crossroads School learners make sandwiches for charity

Learners at Crossroads School in Randburg took part in charity work by making peanut butter and jam sandwiches and adding handwritten notes with encouraging messages.
The sandwiches were given to families to give to people in need, helping homeless and vulnerable members of the community.
Through the activity, the learners actively contributed to supporting others and learning the value of community care.

Cableway Charity Challenge to take place on Table Mountain in May

The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company will host the Cableway Charity Challenge on Table Mountain in Cape Town on Saturday, the ninth of May.
Participants will climb the mountain to raise money for conservation, rescue services and youth programmes.
Organisers aim to raise more than one-point-two million rand this year. Beneficiaries include Wilderness Search and Rescue, Volunteer Wildfire Services, SANParks Honorary Rangers and the Ubuntu Football Academy.
Individuals, corporate teams and school teams can enter. Registration for the 2026 event is now open, and supporters can sponsor climbers to boost fundraising totals.
