UP student runs Comrades for Degrees campaign

University of Pretoria master’s student in Agricultural Plant Pathology, Qiniso Sithole, is preparing to run in the Comrades Marathon on Sunday to support the institution’s Degrees Delivered campaign.
The initiative is aimed at helping graduates clear historical student debt and access the degree certificates they have already earned.

NYDA launches 100000 youth jobs programme

The National Youth Development Agency has launched Phase Five of the National Youth Service Programme, creating 100,000 paid opportunities for unemployed young people across South Africa’s nine provinces.
Participants will work in community service projects while gaining work experience and skills training.
The programme is part of efforts with the Presidential Youth Employment Intervention to reduce youth unemployment.
Applications are open through the SAYouth.mobi platform.

Eldorado Park children gain reading space

Children in Eldorado Park now have a new place to discover the joy of reading.
The Masibambisane Centre has opened a library stocked with books for learners aged six to 18, thanks to support from the Johannesburg Garden Club.
The project transformed an existing space into a dedicated learning hub with trained librarians and a structured book collection.
The centre says the library will help children from Eldorado Park, Kliptown and Slovo Park access more learning opportunities and build a brighter future.

Las Vegas Grand Prix contract until 2037

Formula One has extended the Las Vegas Grand Prix contract until 2037, keeping the race on the calendar for another 10 years.
The race, first held in 2023, takes place every November on the Las Vegas Strip in the United States and attracts large crowds.
Organisers say the event has brought in more than $3 billion for the local economy since it started.
The next Las Vegas Grand Prix will take place from 19 to 21 November 2026.
