WAS Foundation delivers winter aid packages

The WAS Foundation has delivered blankets, food and clothing to vulnerable families in Krugersdorp West as part of its winter outreach project.
Volunteers distributed 750 blankets, 500 loaves of bread, clothing and 165 litres of soup to people in need.
The annual campaign relies on donations and volunteer support to assist families during the cold winter season.
Organisers say the project aims to support people facing hardship during winter.

PRISA opens Prisms Young Voices applications

The Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa has opened applications for Prisms Young Voices 2026.
The programme selects emerging communications professionals for mentorship, exposure to award-winning campaigns and participation in the Prisms Awards judging process.
Applicants must submit a 200 to 250-word motivation or a short video explaining why they should be selected.
Applications open on 1 June 2026.

South Africa hosts aerospace defence airshow

South Africa will host the 13th Africa Aerospace and Defence trade exhibition and airshow at Air Force Base Waterkloof in Pretoria from 16 to 20 September.
Organisers say the event will bring together more than 300 exhibitors from over 40 countries, along with up to 200 official delegations, with at least 100 expected to attend.
Around 60,000 visitors are expected to pass through the venue during the five-day event.
The exhibition will showcase aerospace and defence technology from across the world.

Hartleyvale hosts Hockey Nations Cup action

The FIH Hockey Men’s Nations Cup takes place at Hartleyvale Stadium in Cape Town from tomorrow to 20 June 2026.
Eight international teams will compete in the tournament, with the winner earning promotion to the 2026–27 FIH Hockey Pro League.
Matches will be played over the course of the competition.
