Warm Hearts and Uniforms for Mamelodi Learners

More than 50 learners from N’wa-Vangani Primary School in Mamelodi East received much-needed school uniforms to help them stay warm this winter.
The Evangelical Presbyterian Church in SA, together with Genesis Corporate Solutions, donated jerseys, trousers, shoes, shirts and belts as part of their community social investment project.
Reverend Thembani Mayayise said the initiative is about uplifting both the school and the wider community, with plans to return next year.
Genesis contributed R30,000, with Matimu Mandlhazi saying they aim to make a lasting impact in education.
The school governing body welcomed the support, saying it boosts both morale and learning among disadvantaged learners.

KwaZulu-Natal Education MEC Sipho Hlomuka has welcomed over 45,000 young people into schools across the province as part of the Basic Education Employment Initiative.

Hlomuka praised the initiative for helping young people gain experience while improving classroom environments.
The assistants, many of them unemployed qualified educators, will support subjects like literacy, science and technology.
Others will help maintain school facilities and promote sport and cultural activities.
Hlomuka urged the new recruits to take their roles seriously and make a lasting impact in learners’ lives.
