More than 100 people in Zandspruit, near Honeydew in Johannesburg, took part in an MTN Group Fintech financial literacy programme at the Emthonjeni Community Centre.
Participants received budgeting workshops, financial literacy resources, health checks and one on one mentoring designed to help them make informed financial decisions and build long term financial confidence.
MTN says it will continue providing access to digital financial education tools beyond the campaign to help participants strengthen their financial knowledge.

Kew residents clean up crime hotspot

Residents and community organisations have cleared overgrown vegetation and removed waste along Corlett Drive in Kew to improve safety in the area.
Volunteers cut grass, trimmed trees and cleared pavements after residents raised concerns that the neglected stretch had become a hiding place for criminals and left pedestrians feeling unsafe.
The clean up brought together members of local community policing forums, the Sandringham Youth Desk, the Kew Action Group and residents, who hope the cleaner environment will help reduce crime and make the area safer for everyone.
