The 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day Expat Chapter Johannesburg and Visions of Joy have donated 57 handmade blankets and 100 beanies to people supported by the Thuthuzela Aid Community Centre in Marlboro Gardens.
The donation will help keep vulnerable children, older people and families warm during Johannesburg's cold winter.
Thuthuzela, which operates an orphanage and day care centre, says the support will bring comfort to those it cares for while reminding them that their community is standing with them.

The survey of more than 2 400 people across 12 countries found that South Africa's Big Five, national parks, African penguins and whale watching experiences continue to attract travellers from around the world.
The report also found that interest in wildlife holidays is growing, with online searches increasing significantly over the past year, reinforcing South Africa's appeal as a leading nature tourism destination.
