Ride Joburg Introduces Free Ride initiative For Financially Disadvantaged South Africans

Africa's premier timed cycling event, Ride Joburg is on a mission to promote cycling as a lifeline for communities.
To foster a more inclusive cycling culture Ride Joburg has introduced the Free Ride initiative offering complimentary race entries to financially disadvantaged South Africans.
Applications for the Free Ride initiative will close on the 31st of July.
Meanwhile Ride Joburg has announced a date change for its 2025 event t will now take place on 26th of October instead of its original date of November 16.
This adjustment comes in response to the 2025 G20 Johannesburg Summit, which is scheduled for November.
The organizers say the original date would have posed significant challenges due to road closures and high-level security protocols.

TikTok has announced a new commitment to upskill and train 3,000 content creators across Sub-Saharan Africa, through its #LevelUpAfrica programme, designed to support the next generation of creatives.
The announcement was made during a creator round-table in Johannesburg and aims to expand opportunities within the creative sector while driving opportunities for youth across South Africa and the broader region.
The event brought together creators, media and industry partners as well as government leaders including the Business Development Department's Deputy Minister Jane Sithole.
