Hyde Park Corner is hosting a Mandela Month pet adoption and kindness drive until 20 July.
Visitors can meet dogs looking for new homes and are encouraged to donate to help feed shelter dogs, in partnership with Woodrock Animal Rescue and Sandton SPCA.
At the shopping centre’s main gathering space, Centre Court, a striking 3-metre dog sculpture wrapped in scarves stands as a symbol of hope and resilience.
The Secret Scarves Shhh… campaign displays 667 hand-knitted scarves as acts of kindness for those in need.
On 18 July, volunteers will distribute scarves around Hyde Park Corner, spreading warmth and compassion in the community.

Constance Heneke has beaten a decade-long addiction to heroin and tik and is now on a mission to help others in Mitchells Plain.
Thirteen years clean, she’s raising funds to create recovery homes across Cape Town, starting in her own community.
Her journey to healing began with support from Victory Outreach Recovery Home, where faith and compassion changed her life.
Today, Constance owns a successful engraving business and wants to give back by helping those still trapped in addiction.
She’s calling on the community to donate money, food and clothing to support holistic recovery.

The NPO empowers vulnerable individuals by teaching sewing skills and aims to clothe 1,000 children across multiple orphanages.
