Phase 3 Rand Water maintenance may cause extended outages in Johannesburg

Residents in some parts of Johannesburg may experience prolonged water interruptions lasting seven days or more, following the start of the 3rd phase of Rand Water's maintenance plan earlier this week, which concluded on Thursday.

While the maintenance work was scheduled to last 54 hours, Rand Water has warned that system recovery could take significantly longer, resulting in extended water outages in affected areas.

Residents in Johannesburg's Western suburbs including Fleurhof, Doornkop and parts of Soweto will be affected.

The aircraft made its first commercial flight from Johannesburg to Durban recently, offering passengers enhanced comfort and efficiency.

The new aircraft will serve busy domestic routes, including Johannesburg–Durban, Cape Town–Hoedspruit, Gqeberha–Johannesburg, and Cape Town–Mbombela.

Airlink is the first airline in Southern Africa to operate the state-of-the-art E195-E2s.
