Young athletes excelled at the ASA Primary Sub-Youth Championships in Potchefstroom, with Central Gauteng Athletics breaking 9-national records.
CGA topped the medal table with 45 medals, including wins in the U7 boys' 80m and U13 boys' 200m events.
Notable performances came from Daniel Kabuya (CGA) and Cody Benn (Athletics Gauteng North), who set new records in their respective events.
Central Gauteng Athletics' development officer, Siphiwe Sikhosana says their club development programme supports disadvantaged clubs and schools to nurture young athletes.

World Under-21 Taekwondo Championships in Nairobi

The inaugural World Under-21 Taekwondo Championships in Nairobi, last week, saw strong performances from North African countries, with Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia all claiming medals.
The 3-day competition had over 400- participants from 78-countries.
Tunisia’s Masghouni Wafa won gold in the women’s Under-62kg division, while Egypt’s Mohamed Fathy secured bronze in the men’s Under-68kg category.
The Taekwondo Federation's Philip Khaemba says it was a great honour to hosting an event of such magnitude, as they celebrate 50-years of Taekwondo in Kenya:
