MEC for Agriculture and Economic Development Vuyiswa Ramokgopa says the priority now is converting those commitments into projects that boost economic activity and create jobs across the province.

Applebee’s manager leads staff and guests to safety as tornado strikes

A restaurant manager in Three Rivers, Michigan, USA is being praised after quickly guiding staff and customers to safety as a tornado approached the area.
Aubrey McKenzie, who manages an Applebee’s, acted after receiving a severe weather alert that escalated rapidly and became visibly dangerous outside the restaurant.
She moved everyone into an interior kitchen area without windows and also brought in a man, a child and a dog who were outside as conditions worsened.
The building was damaged during the tornado, but all those inside survived without injury.
