Story 3
East Rand Palliative Care has opened a new upmarket charity shop at the Summerfields Shopping Centre in Atlasville, expanding its network of thrift stores used to fund its care services.
The organisation says the new store has been designed to feel more like a boutique, offering quality pre-loved items in a modern, stylish setting, as part of a wider effort to attract more shoppers and boost fundraising.
The charity, which provides home-based palliative care, relies on donations and shop sales to support patients living with serious illness, as well as their families.
Management says the new approach is aimed at strengthening sustainability while continuing to deliver care across the East Rand.
