Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo is urging residents to join the effort to create a greener, more resilient city by planting trees.
During Arbor Month, in September, over 6,500 street and fruit trees were planted across Johannesburg.
The city has set an ambitious target to plant 50,000 new trees by June 2026.
Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo spokesperson, Jenny Moodley says this target is not just about beautification; it is about creating a climate-smart city for current and future generations.
