Bromhof Knitwits donate blankets to elderly
Story 1
A group of women from the Bromhof Knitwits has donated about 30 handmade blankets to elderly residents at an assisted living facility in Ferndale.
The knitting and crocheting group, linked to the 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day initiative, delivered the items as part of ongoing efforts to support vulnerable people, particularly older residents who receive few family visits.
Avanteco manager Lorraine Norval says the blankets have helped uplift residents and remind them they are cared for.
The group continues to produce blankets, scarves and beanies for people in need, saying their work is driven by a desire to bring comfort to others.
