Women with visual impairments have a new opportunity to compete at the highest level after the DP World Lions launched a women's blind cricket team.
The team was officially welcomed at the DP World Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg as part of a partnership between DP World and Lions Cricket.
The initiative will provide players with greater support and opportunities to develop their cricket careers.
It also aims to encourage more women and girls with visual impairments to take up the sport.

Young riders tackle enduro for good cause

Twelve-year-old Harvey and 13-year-old Alexander will compete in the 2026 IMPI Hard Enduro in the Northern Drakensberg to raise R40,000 for Team Zonke, a programme of the Midrand-based Maletsatsi Foundation.
The programme uses off-road motorcycling to help children in alternative care build confidence and life skills.
The Good Things Guy reports that despite minor injuries, both riders will take part in the event to help expand the programme's work.

The organisation has also created posters, activity books and flashcards for Ladles of Love's Mandela Day event.
