Both grades of petrol are set to decrease by between 49 cents and 54 cents per litre.

Diesel users are likely to benefit the most, with a decrease of between R1.26 and R1.38 cents per litre.

The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources is expected to announce the new fuel prices on the first Wednesday of 2026.

A further 300 workers are currently undergoing verification, while over 100 are awaiting the verification of their matric certificates.

The appointments follow a Provincial Treasury allocation of more than R130 million, aimed at expanding and stabilising the community healthcare workforce.
The move is expected to enhance healthcare delivery at grassroots level while creating much-needed employment opportunities across the Northern Cape.
